Free ebook: Do You Think You May Be Autistic or ADHD?
A neuroaffirming guide to exploring your neurotype
I’ve received lots of messages on my counselling Facebook page from people thinking they were probably Autistic or ADHD. They wanted to know where they could go to explore things further on their journey to self-identifying or seeking a formal diagnosis.
I ended up creating a Facebook post full of signposting which I’ve been adding to here and there. I thought it was time to update it and bring everything together in an ebook which can be shared and accessed more readily across platforms.
This ebook won’t tell you if you’re Autistic or ADHD (or both). Only you (if self-identifying) or a qualified professional (if diagnosing) can do that.
It’s designed to empower you to learn more about these neurodivergences and the ways of being they encompass. You’ll find screening questionnaires; resources for exploring your identity; and signposting to immerse yourself in communities and experiences.
When people first start searching for resources it’s easy to be flooded with outdated, inaccurate or pathologising content. Picking apart the helpful from the harmful can feel like an impossible task.
Over 36 pages, this guide explores:
Why take a neuroaffirming approach
What autism and ADHD are
Why language matters
Screening tools
Monotropism
Self-assessment books
Why so many are discovering their neurodivergence
What it means to identify as Autistic or ADHD
Facebook groups to help you explore
Live groups to interact with others
Signposting to websites, books, podcasts, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram
Why it’s important to learn from those with high support needs and different intersectional identities and accompanying signposting
Common co-occurring health conditions
The future of the neurodiversity paradigm
If you’re already sure of your neurodivergence you may well find some of the signposting in here helpful too!

This is so great, I wish I had been given something like this when I first started to explore my child's neurodivergence, how wonderful to have so much to explore when you are first discovering you could be neurodivergent too.
